Boluda Lines Rotterdam B.V. and Mann Lines Logistics are the next two shortsea shipping lines to join the Secure Chain. Soon, they will only release containers arriving in Rotterdam securely and reliably via the new method – without the use of a PIN code. The two shipping lines are asking their customers and chain partners to prepare for this transition via Portbase.
Boluda Lines Rotterdam B.V. and Mann Lines Logistics participated in the pilot launched in Rotterdam in early 2026 to address PIN code fraud in the shortsea sector through the Secure Chain. With both shortsea shipping lines now live, six other participants remain involved in the pilot, each preparing to join at their own pace. Shortsea shipping line CMA-CGM SSL Intra North Europe went live earlier. In the deepsea sector, 95% of all container cargo arriving at the port of Rotterdam is now handled via the Secure Chain.
Currently, consultations are also underway with shortsea and deepsea parties yet to join following the pilot. The ultimate goal is for all containers arriving in Rotterdam – both deepsea and shortsea – to be released exclusively via the Secure Chain in a secure and reliable manner.
